The Carlsberg brewery was opened in 1847 by J.C. Jacobsen – a 24 year-old with a passion for great beer. It was the first brewery to purify brewing yeast, which changed the world of beer forever. Carlsberg believes great discoveries should not be kept secret and has shared its yeast, PH scale and other laboratory findings.
