The Dalmore boasts a royal heritage stretching back to 1263, when Mackenzie of Kintail saved King Alexander III from a charging stag. In gratitude, Mackenzie was gifted the symbol of the 12-point royal stag to use on his family crest. Centuries later, the Mackenzies took control of The Dalmore in 1867, lending that noble symbol to the distillery. Each individual component of our copper pot stills plays its part in the creation of a complex and full-bodied new-make spirit. This inspiring composition shapes a spirit perfect for long maturation periods, in exquisite casks, from the world’s finest bodegas and wineries. Partnerships with the finest bodegas allow The Dalmore to maintain on-going access to rare and aged Sherry casks, including those used for the 30-Year Old Matusalem Oloroso.
