• VP of Winemaking Sarah Quider leads the all-women winemaking team at Ferrari-Carano and has been with the winery for over 25 years.
• Beginning with a small, 30-acre vineyard in Alexander Valley, Don and Rhonda Carano, second generation Italian-Americans, founded Ferrari-Carano in 1981.
• The first wines bearing the Ferrari-Carano label were released in 1987 – the 1986 Fumé Blanc and 1985 Chardonnay – two wines that are still produced today.
• The second vintage of the Chardonnay, the 1986 Chardonnay, was featured on the cover of Wine Spectator.
