Located outside Barcelona, Spain, Heredad Segura Viudas is an iconic boutique winery, quietly basking in the sunny vineyards of the ancient wine region of Penedès. The origins of the Heredad have been traced back to the 11th century- the time of the Iberian Crusades -La Reconquista. Segura Viudas is one of the most awarded brands in wine and Cava tasting, both nationally and internationally. For many centuries, our vineyard has cultivated a unique history, of which we are especially proud. In the mid-20th century, Cava became recognized as a revolution in the world of “champagne.” It grew to become an international reference of sparkling wine in its own right, recognized for quality and diversity. The biggest point that Segura Viudas centers its brand around is respecting and nurturing the ecosystem and the environment of their production. The flowers that bloom in the vineyards, the wild medicinal plants, the great variety of birds and the fish that swim in the river are all part of its precious environment, which must be respected and preserved. In February 2020, Segura Viudas obtained the “Biosphere Commitment” label in recognition of their commitment to sustainable and quality tourism for the 3rd consecutive year.
